Your choice of cell phone OS

I use Android Pixel phones.

Although the practical reasons why I chose Android over IOS have been disappearing one after another over the years. I might pick an iPhone next cycle.

I am impressed by how resistant IOS is against rooting. Wouldn't have thought that is would be possible to keep people out to this degree.

XNU memory safety in iOS is second to none. The memory enhancements in the new iPhone 17s and iOS 26 alone is a compelling reason to utilize one. Seems like the closest thing to CHERI on the market IMO.

Of course online info is "vague" but there is some rumbling about Google back-peddling their plans to make devs register. Something about still allowing sidechannel app loading thru ADB...which I'm fine with as long as they don't do something sleazy like make ADB loaded apps run in an additionally restrictive second sandbox or further restrict their permissions.

Man the whole registered developers thing is a mess.

If I end up actually having to use my og pinephone as my primary I'll know things have gotten even worse.

I have no use for Apple computers at all.

I bought a iPhone 13 Pro Max entirely because our whole family, world wide, has these.

Other than price, I am 100% delighted. All it does is work.

I use the camera a lot now instead of hauling my Nikon 850. I shoot exclusive in pro raw mode at 300 dpi for the best image quality. The phone ain’t a Nikon but it fits nicely in a pocket.
