Hello,
I'm using FreeBSD 13.0-RELEASE-p8. I used the i915kms driver for a long time, but now I want to give x11/nvidia-hybrid-graphics a try. My graphic card requires x11/nvidia-secondary-driver-390.
Here's my config.
pciconf -lv

I have an old graphics card (6200LE) which is not supported by Nvidia post xorg-server-1.18. I switched to an open-source driver, and all was well until I upgraded my monitor to an LG 32" QHD early this year.
The open-source driver does not recognize my panel dimensions and switches to 1024 x...
Hello. I'm new to FreeBSD, and I've just installed 13.0-RELEASE. After I installed xorg, I did "# pkg install nvidia-driver" which directed me to the legacy 390.x drivers on the NVIDIA website, as it said that the new 470.x driver would ignore my GPU. (I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 card) I...
Hey everyone!
So I'm an Arch Linux user and I've recently learned about KVM/QEMU and PCI Passthrough.As I was learning about FreeBSD, I decided to give it a try as a VM.
I currently have a Microsoft Surface Book (1st Gen with Performance Base) which has an Intel iGPU and a Nvidia GeForce GTX...
So I have this Acer Nitro 5 running FreeBSD 13.0-RELEASE (fresh install), and I'm wondering if it's possible to get nvidia-driver to work on it. The BIOS has no option to disable the onboard graphics. If I startx with nvidia.ko loaded and 'device "nvidida"' in the config, I get "no screens...
Hi Folks,
I performed a pkg update/upgrade and pkg downloaded and reinstalled the nvidia-driver binary against the version I installed from ports with this option:
ACPI_PM : on
How can I prevent that pkg overwrites software installed from the ports collection?
Thanks,
tgl

Hello, I can't suspend my system, respectively it goes to suspended state but after very short time (around 1sec) it automatically wakes up and only black screen is shown and I must do full restart (ctrl+alt+delete) because system is unusable in this state.
I'm using KDE5 plasma desktop with...
There's a FreeBSD recommendation to use /boot/loader.conf for nvidia (with the latest driver for NVIDIA).
Is this use of loader.conf appropriate (with FreeBSD 13.0-RELEASE), or somewhat archaic?
loader.conf(5)
Hello All,
I passed like one week searching to solve my problem of black screen on internal monitor on my laptop, under xfce 4.16/lightdm.
the external monitor on DP work fine connected to the nvidia 1660 Ti card, the internal display no chance.
I'm on FreeBSD 13 stable, I use the...
I'm a bit confused by the current state of support for nVidia GPUs with FreeBSD. I was hoping somebody could shed some light on the current situations.
From what I can tell, nVidia seems to provide drivers for FreeBSD for a wide variety of GPUs. As far as I can tell, these would work well with...
Good afternoon all:
I didn’t experience this problem in 12.2, but with 13.0 I can’t get FreeBSD to boot up after I install NVIDIA drivers. The boot process freezes at the frame buffer. See attached image for error message. It's an Nvidia 1080 Ti on a custom-built machine. No other OS gives me...
I have a laptop with nvidia which requires the 340 legacy driver. I upgraded to FreeBSD 13.0 and nvidia does not work neither in console nor in X11 and in dmesg I see this:
I have this:
nvidia-driver-340-340.108_2 NVidia graphics card binary drivers for hardware OpenGL rendering

i915kms drives the integral display without difficulty.
What's the simplest way for me to drive a display on DisplayPort?
Eventually I'd like to try hybrid graphics but for now, all I want is to drive a second display. (I'll rarely use this computer without a dock.)
I experimented...
I'm using Gnome 3 on FreeBSD 12.2 with a GTX 970 display adapter. The system suspends to RAM but does not resume, although it resumes with Windows and Linux on the same hardware.
A post in April recommended editing /usr/src/sys/dev/fb/vesa.c so that a line is commented out:
case STATE_LOAD...
Hello friends,
I have a TrueNAS 12.0 server which runs with no GUI. I plugged in Nvidia GTX 1050Ti to it in order to use in ffmpeg. After plugging in pciconf -vl gave me the following output

Hi!
Recently I bought a brand new ASUS nVidia GeForce GT710-4H-SL-2GD5.
First and foremost for me in there is capacity to support up to 4 monitors with low energy consumption.
With nvidia-driver-340 the videocard just works, although a full screen video runs unsatisfactory.
With another...
Hi,
I am a new FreeBSD user and I just installed FreeBSD on my computer. My PC has 2 graphics processing units, one on the cpu(intel) and a gpu(nvidia). First time I set it up, I had some scaling problems with the display, eg the Intel GPU has a full HD resolution on xfce but the nvidia card...
Install FreeBSD 12.2 with Gnome, when installing the nvidia-driver all the tty (Control + alt + F (x) look like this
my rc.conf
kld_list="nvidia-modeset"
my loader.conf
linux_load="YES"
nvidia-modeset_load="YES"
nvidia_load="YES"
Currently I have an Nvidia GTX 750 Ti video card I want to use for my little machine learning projects, and I see that CUDA does not work on FreeBSD. I am curious if I could use OpenCL https://www.freshports.org/devel/opencl with this Nvidia card, or that is out of the question too?
