No need to add to startup application, it must be inserted in the panel (panel plugin). Click on it to display a menu for enable/disable network card(s) and configure them.
Maybe. Though I doubt anything so vulnerable was found in a disabled by default binary that they need to be discreet. Its more likely they don't have a strong enough rationale to even present to the OpenBSD guys for open discussion.

Not really. It's just this growing mentality I wish I could get others to see my way that unchanging software does not have to be removed, but I know it's futile. The world is changing around me and at some point, I'll just have to accept, move...
From time to time, one of my responses in the technical part of the forums helps someone solve their problem, and that makes me really really happy. For me, that's the most satisfying thing about this whole forum apparatus.

I'm not sure you are facing the same issue. All my setups with emulators/virtualbox-ose-72 use vboxdrv. Booting either UEFI or CSM with no problems. Each runs at least 1 VM in headless mode, but I think this happens later during the boot process.
Thank you very much!
Adding
hw.virtio.pci.transitional="1"
to /boot/loader.conf definitely helped. I'm curious what could cause this. Given the bug mentioned above it seems the reason is still unclear.
I got home today and got welcomed by frozen boot screen. Right after the copyright banner and console video properties are listed.
I had to blacklist vboxdrv from loader prompt and then proceed into boot. Nothing else worked, and there were no...
It was old and bogus. Ip is new and improved!
Seriously, my guess is someone looking to make a name for themselves. Ain't no one gonna get famous by fixing bugs. Re-designed and implemented the Linux network management tools? Hire that guy ASAP!
I haven't heard most of these jokes--I thought I knew all his stuff, but I was wrong--what a pleasant surprise.
For Hedberg fans--it seems as if he's trying some new material--not all of it lands.

I've noticed an unusual behaviour in FreeBSD guests with VirtIO network adapters. The setup is simple: Host is FreeBSD (currently 15.0-RELEASE), same as the guest (or at least 14.3-RELEASE). There is a
vtnet network adapter bridged to one of the...

Agencies? In California, the laws were passed by the legislature. It can only be changed by the legislature. So you need to contact about 120 elected legislators. Note that because of short term limits (6 years for the lower house, 12 for the...
Assuming you have Vulkan compatible hardware you can enable it on /compat/linux by creating a new "linux" service script (or edit the existing /etc/rc.d/linux service file, just replace linux_vlk with linux) with the following:
#!/bin/sh

Konsole might render with GPU, and terminal output also slows down stuff (like warning-spam with compiling; I hide those to compile faster :p)
Ptyxis and GNOME Terminal with GTK do Vulkan with GSK_RENDERER=vulkan
Looking at the mailing list, I think they are deciding what "shot" is the correct one. So far two things:
Overly modularise and reduce things. Typical developer mindset which creates DIY Linux-like platforms rather than operating systems...
No, it is not. Period.
It is perhaps easiest only for people that do want to take a little of time and learn before configuring.
That user should be using MS Windows, not FreeBSD.
I will not bloat my system for doing something like: cat...
Whilst I don't disagree in principal (after all, cups is generally needed for most printers anyway), the dependencies pulled in are fairly extreme for functionality simply to replace lpd.
Highlight includes, not one but two python interpreters...
Since the creation of C and C++, there have been many different programming languages in vogue. None have outclassed C or C++. So, even the disk will end, and the favorites will still be there.
Plus, I don't think there is reason to be suspicious, it's following the exact same hype cycle all trendy techs have done before. It always peaks with people being frankly fanatical about their tech, until comes the time where it's not new...
You generally won't see Rust on many job apps during our lifetime. But there is still a push by small but vocal companies to "sell" you new products (IDEs, books, courses) because there is less market competition compared to industry standard...
Interesting. None here. Even for intern roles to try to capture some young talent.
Defence / safety-critical job listings specifically are still very Java, C++, Ada/SPARK, C (in that approx order). I would have assumed a "safe" language would...
