Share your OpenBSD or OpenBSD derivative experience (for FreeBSD users)

I decided to ask here rather than start a new thread for it.

Why? Why don't people want to start a new thread, when no thread on the topic exists?
I'm curious.

It looks good for an OpenBSD LIveCD/USB. There is even a 'demo' on installing desktop environment(s) though I don' t know too much about it. I felt it might be a good toy to tinker with but not to replace my lovely FreeBSD. <3

Admittedly, I have never been sure of the use-case of a Live USB. You could just install a normal OpenBSD on the USB disk and set the root r/o in the fstab. If you want to get fancy, then /tmp, /var/run, /dev could be mounted via mount_mfs(8).

(Back when it was a CD or DVD it made a little more sense)

Yes please do; threads are not an limited resource, and it makes searching and finding the right topics easier.

The Fuguita developer seems friendly enough, you may post messages to him directly on his site without logging in. The screenshots of desktop environments look nice.

You can start a new thread if you want. I hope there's enough to fill it though. It would take someone or a few making screenshots, and describing it enough to do that. Here is still good as a catchall for OpenBSD and its derivatives.

You can link to here from it. Then link to here from that. Also, using the tags. At least, posting here gives it more quick attention. I'd like to see more posts on in depth use of OpenBSD and Fuguita.

Tried it a few times. It improved a lot over the years. You still have to make sure you understand everything that ihe installer talks about at lab-level..
Biggest problem for me is time. Everything is different. It's a few large tech books further before I could brew a USB live system like my FreeBSD mod.
I'm personally convinced that at least the amd64 BSD's could be combined because the differences can be made to post-boot options in any case.

Wouldn't that conclude to a amd64 speciification bias? Kernel going down without the conditions to trigger a panic? The system gives up without a reason?
