Crumb 1501: Authorial Latitude: I approve some of the images generated by ChatGPT as graphical representations of my crumbs even when they have clear distortions in some secondary elements, usually in the background, because they lend authenticity to the whole experiment—this isn’t reality; this is all make-believe, and I find it enriching that the dents left by the tools show. Additionally, sometimes I have no idea why ChatGPT included certain elements in the image, but, if they look well rendered, they pass.

MY PRODUCTION PROCESS
  1. I write my crumbs (very short stories or reflections) when I feel like it.
  2. I have 9 prompt templates that instruct ChatGPT to convert one of my crumbs into an image using a certain style.
  3. Each template basically says to ChatGPT: create an image in this particular style that reflects what the crumb says. Add the text of the crumb on the image, plus "Alfredo Llaquet-Alsina presents".
  4. It's important to note that ChatGPT decides by itself what specific image to generate every time. I just provide the crumb and the style. It provides the rest. It's its "creativity" that decides how the image will be.
  5. To speed up the process, I use a custom FreeBSD script that gets the crumb from stdio (this means I paste it on the terminal), and consecutively pairs it with each of the prompt templates and copies each result into the clipboard, one at a time, waiting for a key press in between.
  6. I paste each final prompt into ChatGPT.
  7. ChatGPT creates the image.
  8. If the image doesn't look distorted and the text is correctly rendered, it gets approved.
  9. If the image is okay and I like it, but the rendered text has a few errors, I may decide to fix the text manually by copy-pasting individual letters, which is tedious but worth it if it means saving a nice image.
That's it.

If the second circumstance happens, you must pay with the one single local banknote whose value is closest to 100 euros. If you choose to eat the fruit, once you’ve recovered, you must write this same information in your own words in a public place. Don’t add any additional details.

I've seen some of your stuff in the web and wonder why don't you publish it on Amazon. I enjoy the dark aesthetics of these. These are the sort of things I'd enjoy on a plane or in a digital detox when visiting family members.

Seriously consider publishing.
 
Read the First 1250 Crumbs on Your Terminal Randomly One at a Time

This was JohnK's idea.

Installation:
Unzip the attached file. It will create a directory called fcrumbs with two files in it: fcrumbs and fcrumbs.dat.

Usage:
Bash: 
fortune <path_to_the_directory>/fcrumbs

Example:
If you unzipped it in $HOME:
Bash: 
fortune ~/fcrumbs
Or also:
Bash: 
fortune $HOME/fcrumbs

Note: "fcrumbs" stands for "fortune crumbs."

Edit: Sometimes one crumb refers to another. If you want to see one crumb in particular, do:
Bash: 
fortune -m "Crumb <crumb_number>[^0-9]" <path_to_the_directory>/fcrumbs

Example: To read crumb 100 do:
Bash: 
fortune -m "Crumb 100[^0-9]" %HOME/fcrumbs

Edit 2: If it bothers you as much as it does me that the text is not word-wrapped, add | fold -s -w $(tput cols) at the end.

Examples:

Crumb 1518: The Black Rooster: If you are watching a soccer game on TV with your family or friends, you all may suddenly see a robust black rooster wearing a heavy solid-gold tiara calmly strolling across the room.
