Solved I think Apache hates me

Hi,

Over time I get very nervous about doing apache, php and mysql upgrades on my webserver because eventually something happens to show how much it hates me.

Currently it does not look like www/apache24 is happy with config changes. I get a forbidden message on all my pages. I am guessing I do not have the new permissions setup the way they would like.

It's supposed to be there. The permissions are simple, deny access to everything and selectively open certain parts. You've now allowed access to everything, including for example /etc/passwd. Not really a file you want to have your webserver access to.

Your webserver may hate you but hackers are going to love you.

Remove that "Require all granted" from the server's root. This is not the right way of doing things. At best is dangerous.
To solve the "Forbidden" problem you can try these steps:
  1. Is the "Listen xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80" option pointing to the right address?
  2. In your config file, the permissions for the directory where your web pages are stored are set up correctly?
  3. Filesystem permissions for that directory are correct? And for files? Everything should be readable by everyone (the directory 755, files 644).

In case of using mod_fproxy_fcgi Forbiden problem arise often if you use ProxyPass or ProxyPassMatch. Would it be correct and safe to use
