(FreeBSD Specific) What are your most frequently used programs?

Librewolf,thunar,leafpad,geany,lilyterm+tmux
qbittorrent,vlc,audacious(31 eq bands like the old xmms2)
In the base of fvwm3
Added Librewolf to a live system. It works on all sides but what do I need for safe password management? It seems it doesn't have its own. I'm considering a site login system based on pushing keyboard characters to webpages but that's ugly...

Since we are getting nostalgic, I miss xroach. Something satisfying about swatting a 2d roach before it can hide under a window...I'm guessing it will never be able to run under a wayland compositor...how shortsighted...lol
Don't forget xteddy! https://xteddy.org/
It seems there's a package for him too https://www.freshports.org/games/xteddy/

Mmost of the tme simple use:

As 'internet surfing' box: firefox, chrome, w3m, alpine.
As typewriter: fossil, emacs, vi, tex, xdvi, dvips.
As programmable box: fossil, emacs, vi, tcl, tk, sqlite3, cc, lex.
Tools: calendar, cal, bc, sqlite3.

Well a lot more programs, but that comes first to mind.

Essentially, yes. I just know there are so many points of view and use cases among the forum users.
You see that people seems to be answering to different questions.

Your answer seems to incompletely respond: what do you install. Of course I use also dd, du, etc.
And I have a big list of programs to install if I have to install again an unixoid OS.

My answer was more, for what I use the computer and what programs I mainly use for it.
Fast answer, there is more to reflect.

Other people include window manager, xterm, tmux, namely the working environment. That is for me very
important, but secondary.

The question if the kernel is a program is correct, then one should answer what OS one uses.
