Not really metal, but definitely rockers, Slade deserve a mention too, with these three classic songs. The great Noddy Holder on vocals, god knows how his vocal cords survived! TOTP actually used to be worth watching when bands like The Sweet, Slade, Suzy Q. and Queen were on every week. :-)

I still remember Dave Hill's 'super yob' guitar on TOTP... in fact he seems to have had a number of them. That costume was a laugh too 😂 . Great band...

Dunno how I forgot this... my brain must be slipping... the whole album is superb. Hawkwind's 'space ritual' live show, with Lemmy. Hawkwind were a space rock band, but with Dave Brock and Lemmy in the band, they were a really Heavy space rock band. In case of sonic attack... turn it up!

This is a good video, interviews with some of the guys in the band, they've even got Stacia in there too (that's her on the cover of 'Space Ritual'). Maybe they're not so well known in the US, but in the UK they're legendary. It's a real shame they split with Lemmy, it was never the same after that, although I wish these retrospective videos wouldn't endlessly go on about that band split. Of course, Lemmy went on to be huge, with Motorhead. But I still think the best music was made when they were playing together. I saw them playing lots of times, great hard-working band; it you wanted a gig to go to at the weekend, you could almost guarantee that Hawkwind would be playing, somewhere 😁

They kicked a.... hard! :p
I started listening to Sabbath when I was about 13 or 14, along with all the other bands, it was all brand new and really mind-blowing back then... 😂. I got bought a casette player for Christmas, and used to get friends to tape their records for me, or tape off the radio... different times.

Yes they were fun times, staying up late listening to the radio with my fingers poised on the record buttons waiting for a favourite song to play, then sleeping through school the next day :)

Sabbath must have been a huge experience in the clubs, that would have been good to see!
