Solved does Thunderbird hang ? Try to stop compression

Hi, i would like to report my finding for maybe they will be of use to others.

i am using a FreeBSD 14.3 as my main desktop machine since a few months.

One of the few problems i found is that Thunderbird hangs miserably, and when it does it hangs all the system for a while, that is a problem.

After a long period of suffering and testing i found that the problem can be solved removing completely the automatic "Folder Compression".
. Settings -> General -> Disk space
. uncheck "compact all folders ... "

Good find. I didn't realize they even had that.

ZFS compression seems like the better option here.
