DWM cant find a patch that automatically restarts dwm

i have been using dwm for a while now and it has become infuriating that i have to recompile and relogin everytime i make even the smallest of change, i mean other WM's like i3, qtile even xmonad allow you to refresh the config with a simple binding, so i thought that

"ok, if it isnt given by default then there must be a patch for it because clearly it is possible to be built into the binary itself"

but i have looked everywhere and everyone keeps suggesting a startup script that i should use if i want to do that, if someone knows of a patch that i can add to dwm to make it actually refreshable, please let me know

i would love to have that built into the binary in case i need to move to a new system

I can understand the aggravation, but recompiling takes about 30 seconds. To nxjoseph, I should try that patch, but my config.h, along with the move-resize patch, has worked for me for so long, that it's not worth the effort (for me). For what it's worth CyberReaper00, there's also spectrwm which can be restarted in place and isn't that different. (To be my usual spammy self, I have an old page on it at https://srobb.net/spectrwm.html, though I haven't updated the page in years, as I've been using dwm for so long--and dwl if I use Wayland. The dwl maintainer for FreeBSD not only responds quickly, but is pretty nice--that is rather than saying Didn't you see that RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU in the config file comments, he gives polite answers to stupid questions. Er, uh, uhm, so I've heard anyway. :)
