Hi everyone,
Recently went from 12.1 to 12.2 and ports 2020Q2 to 2020Q3.
My trackpoint on my Thinkpad T400 sped up noticeably, becoming frustrating to use. It was rather perfect out of the box before my updates.
If I kill moused, the cursor still moves so it isn't handled through moused.
The...
Hello,
I have an old IBM ThinkPad G40 with an mSATA to IDE adapter so I could use an SSD in the machine. The installation went just fine. However, when I boot the machine (from the drive), it says "Operating System Not Found". I'm not sure if this is related, but the BIOS does not have...
I reinstalled FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE on my ThinkPad T480 and updated it to p10. In my saved configuration files, I copied my rc.conf to the new devices, loaded cuse and webcamd, everything looked fine until I loaded GNOME Cheese, which did not recognize the current devices. I fiddled with the...
Testing with 12.2-BETA1, acpiconf -s 3 does not come back with any video. I was not using X, it's just the regular, non-framebuffer console. Thinkpad R400.
Any ideas on what I should try? Should I open a bug report?
This is my first post but I think this falls under peripheral hardware. I have been working my way though the handbook but am only up to chapter 4 and sporatically have read some of the other sections.

Interestingly I have been struck by the same issue that is always only referenced for ThinkPad users, although I don't have a ThinkPad but a Clevo N130WU (which is quite a common laptop known around the world under different brands).
I could only get resume from suspend-to-RAM working by first...
Not sure what to look at next, appreciate any help. My ThinkPad T510 speakers stop working after 10 to 15 minutes of playing a media file with sound (mpv video, firefox youtube). After speaker sound cuts out, I keep a video playing, then plug in headphones and hear perfect sound in the...
I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad E485(Ryzen3 2200, only HDD attached) and trying to install FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE, but booting always stucks on a line:
ahcich0: AHCI reset...
and sometimes hangs on one line before or after that line.
I'm wondering if the laptop is defective, in case I have to change it.
ThinkPad Z60m, FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE, IBM DVD drive.
OpenBSD and Linux works.
It is trying to boot but hangs on these 3 messages:

I'm back to using FreeBSD as my daily desktop machine for the first time since 2002! Been on Arch Linux & OpenBSD since then. Nice to be back. FreeBSD 12. Lenovo ThinkPad T440s. Wow.
I've noticed that the trackpad seems backwards: it's the bottom (the part towards me) of the trackpad...
I plugged a cable to Displayport output of my laptop trying to connect it to an EIZO monitor - arandr shows the screen - I can "Activate" it and even choose few resolutions - but there is a problem - screen is black (yes I switched a signal source in the screen Options to Displayport). The same...
Recently I decided to run exclusively FreeBSD 11.2 (RC3) on my new Thinkpad T480. I'm using drm-kmod-next, overall the system runs quite well. But one really annoying problem is that none of the FN-brightness up/down, wireless, etc.. was working. Even using the acpi_ibm driver. It took me a...
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X230 with the Centrino Advanced-N 6205 card. I've got FreeBSD 12.0-CURRENT installed and I can successfully connect to my home WiFi on the 5 GHz band. However, I'm noticing that there is a significant performance hit to my Internet speeds.
When I had a Linux distro...
Hello everyone, I am new here and new to freeBSD.
I installed freeBSD with XFCE and for the most part it is working fine. However, I have a problem with suspend when the lid is closed (zzz works).
Also, the CPU fan seems to be working, but it gets to around 60-70c and it's not really work at...
Hello Everyone,
I have decided to give FreeBSD a go on my old X300 laptop. Got everything running apart from my graphics card. For some reason it defaults to 640x480. I have installed Xorg, LXDE and Slim packages and now I am unable to login through Slim, it looks like the graphics card driver...
