cursor customization

Good day! I like a _ cursor instead of block, in console. And in x11 terminals like x11/guake I can change cursor symbol, but in plain console I can't found way to change it. Is it possible?

I had a cursor glitch, where the cursor appears like a vertical dotted stripe. Is this necessarily a vulnerability, or could it just be a benign problem from graphics toolkits? It's less likely to be solely xorg, or video drivers. In the past, this glitch never seemed happen on FreeBSD, but...

I installed the dmz cursor theme via pkg install cursor-dmz-aa-theme, but I cannot figure out how to select the theme. When I open LXAppearance I do not see it listed as an option. Does anyone know how to select this theme?

One of the (very few) things I actually like about Windows, is its "hit Ctrl to reveal mouse position" feature (which animates a few circles around the mouse cursor, which is real nice if you can't find it). Is there something like this available for X.Org? Fonz P.S. I'm posting this here...
