/etc/dma/auth.conf replaced with minor version update

Hi,

I upgraded my server from 14.3-RELEASE to 14.4-RELEASE yesterday and noticed that this file was replaced with a generic one during the upgrade process. I believe there should be a prompt asking the user if they want to keep it or not during the upgrade, just like the one for ssh. Has anyone had this problem before? If so, what is the best practice after an upgrade?

Thanks!

You didn't say how you upgraded this server. Anyway, it looks like a bug, actually.
It's strange if you think how the /etc files are scanned for an upgrade.
In fact, outside some exceptions (like rc.conf), nothing should be modified in /etc.

I apologize, I upgraded it from 14.3-RELEASE according to the Handbook instructions:
freebsd-update -r 14.4-RELEASE upgrade

Agreed. Perhaps this thread would attract some attention to this issue.
