Exactly. That raises questions about trusting unknown blobs. That is not what I want to use.

I've tried that but can't get rid of the files. They are in a jail, which probably has some bearing but the jail is stopped.

It is still possible to install and run Home Assistant inside a python virtual environment, even if not supported. However, I don't recommend doing so unless you run on sufficiently powerful hardware. I run on a single-core ARM machine (similar...

Its mainly so people can just grab and run pre-packaged cruft without learning / having time for / doing a proper job. It just so happens that "Docker Image" is an alias for "Bunch of packaged Linux binaries", hence on FreeBSD it just turns into...

Is there a way to show files which have chflags set when using ls? I don't see such an option but maybe I'm overlooking it.

I'm not so sure. By popular, I don't necessarily mean "with individuals". One that comes to mind is trying to tailor the LinuxEmu layer to provide docker containers in the hope that it attracts companies stuck with that kind of stack. Allowing...

https://www.freebsd.org/releases/15.0R/hardware/#sound Correct me if I'm wrong but there are two options if you want to run a new PCI express interface. ESI Juil@ with snd_envy24ht, or RME HDSPEe AIO/RayDAT with snd_hdspe. With the giant caveat...

While it does happen occasionally under Windows, the sound either works or doesn't. When it starts distorting, you can replug the interface and reset it to normal. It can happen once in a few days of heavy sound usage. It is highly unlikely...

In the professional audio community NVidia graphics cards are known to cause latencies large enough to disrupt sound, in some cases. I would be curious to learn whether the onboard sound on the NVidia card itself (the HDMI/displayport one) is...

I have backups, the RTO is not ideal if the base system is trashed. This is freebsd-update, not pkg. I re-ran each freebsd-update command one at a time and it looked like things are okay. The jail restart fine, but I'm afraid to reboot the host.
