I wouldn't say the entire architecture is a black box. Documentation can be had for the basic chips and chipsets. Though the hardware is much more complex. Take CPUs as an example. And each CPU is different from each other. Not from basic design...

I was never a dev, but I was always "jack of all trades" @ $DAYJOYB and my intuition got sharpened by finding and solving all kinds of bugs in the $JOB $WORKFLOW, so I do believe that I was close to the cause with sddm.

Solaris Zone management doesn't need additional software to create zones, similar to FreeBSD jails. However, Solaris zones offer better containment and security because they don't share system resources with other zones. In contrast, FreeBSD...

I am a Solaris user, so my opinion may be slightly biased. To create a zone, you need: - open zonecfg tool, - set path to the zone (it's one-liner), - few one-liners to add and configure net (address, gateway etc.), - another few one-liners to...

You need to use an USB 2.0 thumb drive as it doesn't support USB 3.0 yet. Don't buy a CD/DVD burner like I did lol. You may try the latest in https://dlc.openindiana.org/isos/hipster/test/
