Solved What happened to databases/percona?

I was hoping to migrate from MySQL to Percona, but I no longer see in the ports system.

Why was it removed?

databases/percona57-server went EOL on 10-1
No support for SSL 3.0.0. Old version with no plans to backport.

- Fails to build with OpenSSL 3.0.0 and later with
error: duplicate symbol: ossl_sa_ and as MySQL 5.7 did not get any
updates for OpenSSL 3.0.0 and later it is highly unlikely that Percona
will also get one.
- mark DEPRECATED as upstream will reach EOL on 2023-10-01

That is beyond my expertise. I 'm surprised to see that the port maintainer for 5.7 never put 8.0 on ports though.

Contact fluffy@ maybe they will answer question why no 8.0 branch. Maybe needs help or some license restriction.

It would be nice if Percona 8 would be ported to FreeBSD, but at this point, I've changed my DEFAULT_VERSIONS+=mysql=10.11m. Hoping fluffy@ will shed some light on version 8...

I emailed Fluffy yesterday, but haven't heard anything back yet.
