Rockwood holds on to water too long. Rockwood is a material that must be in a closed system, with infrequent watering for this reason. For instance, not out in the rain, bc rain is unpredictable, and there must be dedicated time for Rockwood to dry enough.The system as show uses rockwool.

When I see that, it seems that when something is broken or not described the way it is said how it's supposed to work, so parts of it have to be fixed. For instance, GPL, needs to be improved to have a clause that it doesn't force the absorption of dependencies it uses which are dynamically linked. That's a flaw, and a potential fix. They'll contemplate the most impressive idea they can come up with and then likely hand it off to us and say, "Make this work. This is how much we want to spend, and if you come in under budget, just make it more badass!"

There are such measuring and control equipment that work in other conditions like that. There's equipment that works in boiler rooms, oil and gas processing, chemical manufacturing, and anything else that involves measuring or processing liquids and gasses. Food industry too, which isn't harsh. It's called Instrumentation, which uses equipment to measure temperature, heat and flow, and often sends this info to a computer or other controller. Often PLCs are used to control valves and such. There's other things which aren't about flow, pressure and temperature, which can be measured. The equipment to measure and control is often sturdy or can be serviced for harsh environments.Presumably it's quite a hostile environment. Whatever electronics is to be used, has to cope with high humidity and temperature, perhaps water condensation or ingress, networking and power has to be robust to the environment.
After looking that up, backyard swimming pools are typically 10,000 to 20,000 gallons, or 38,000 to 76,000 liters. I thought hydroponics would be more efficient in water use than traditional gardening, but that's a lot. And I hear that it costs thousands to fill a pool. That's crazy, and daily?50000 litres per day sounds expensive.
