Using internal bluetooth capabilities on a laptop

I have an ASUS X405U laptop, which has an internal bluetooth adapter. The official guide and forum posts say that the way to use bluetooth is via a dongle. I was curious if there is any possibility to use the internal bluetooth adapter of a laptop?
 
Some internal BT are USB. Like my AX211 from Intel:
