That's interesting. What would be the alternative? Keep them as slaves, or just kill them rightaway?
Both ways have been tried in the past. Both don't work.

The bad on democracy is that anyone can vote. The good is that by that the government should be keen on having a well educated and intelligent populace. Judging by politics of the last decades, they keep failing at that.

But seeing how much the BSDs have been dying and how dead our horses are proclaimed to be, we must be some very mighty necromancers. Don't you think?

Good question. I'm sure there are many forums where such things are popular topics, but this is a technical forum, so I probably shouldn't have said anything.
Anyway, to go back on topic. No, the BSDs are not dead.

Looking at how humans behave I think humankind is not yet prepared to be intelligent yet, hold on 10 centuries at least ... if earth still want us to be there.

Hm, bad enough.

Maybe that gives stuff for some conspiracy theory?

Absolutely yes.

Exactly. And they're doing it already. They've killed my namedaemon. With 14 they kill my sendmailer. With 13 they killed almost all my adapter cards in use. And what do I get in return? A Code-of-Conduct o_O

The Base 3 will never die and will continue until all intellectual curiosity in humans dies.

The FreeBSD Community
The FreeBSD Project
The FreeBSD Foundation
Even if it does, it won't in the foreseeable future, and in the long run, it will survive as something else. Some of those will still be around, as part of whatever successes it.

This reminded me "PHP is Dead" now learn js python ruby perl go d rust etc etc ...
there's no way freebsd ever will die even fortran is here not dead still .
who cares what others say (i'm not freebsd user but i like freebsd much more than linux)
freebsd doing things as it should windows crap is there and people love to use it but freebsd will die ? there'll be always a people who will use freebsd even itself project will die still source is there and we always will use it since not everyone loves to use windows CRAP :D since kernel is open source even itself if the project dies we will enhance it and make it better so idk how bsd dies dd

Yeah, look how much attention this thread is getting though.

walterbyrd you sure do know how to ruffle some feathers eh ;)

What's the saying? If you can't beat 'em, annoy the hell out of 'em?

It certainly seems this thread has reached it's final destination. Like all those before to this topic. So I'd leave it open a bit for the obituaries, should there be some.
