[SOLVED] Is possible run the old game 'heretic' without sound?

Hi.

I´m trying execute the veteran 'heretic' game on my FreeBSD 14.0-RELEASE with the sound output (/dev/dsp) disabled, but i can´t find a way (if there is).

Any help very appreciated.

Yes, cracauer. My machine don't have a sound device, and every time i try to run fails with err9 because don´t found /dev/dsp. Is something that can be done to run the game without sound?. I remember pleasantly hours and hours playing this in the old times (beggining of the century i mean) and i want try to repeat now.

I am offhand not sure whether FreeBSD has a virtual sound device that just goes to /dev/null.

If your machine has USB I would buy a $10 USB sound "card".

Solved. Reading /usr/local/share/doc/heretic/README.txt, i found that there is an option -nosound for the comand heretic. I figured out before, and tried --nosound and --no-sound. Well, Happy gaming to me!.
