what cracauer@ was saying is that it's 2 cores with hyperthreading, so om cpu-bound stuff you are lucky if you get an extra 25% increase. as such the recommendation is j2.

The system is showing 4 logical cores, but he's right. A 4th-gen i5-4300U only has 2 physical cores. It's just each core presents itself to the operating system as 2 logical cores through Intel Hyper Threading technology, but they're not real cores.

Here's the Intel spec sheet, look at the "Total cores" and "Total threads" fields.
