Still not running FreeBSD here, wanted to give it a try on a new laptop as soon as I find some time, so this is just me preparing that move with looking at software I need to be able to run. I was hoping that someone else already into it may find this one useful as well.

Not sure what that means. That the update intent to v1.6.3 was never finished back in 2023/24 because of issues or because the participants lost interest? That piece of software was created with cross-platform support in mind, so I'd assume that updating the port to support the latest version should be possible.

Would be great to see you get things going again for that software, which isn't updated that often (there were only 2 releases in 2025). Once I have everything up and running, I may be able to have a look for myself about future updates.
