I have a beginners question

I formatted a usb as ext fat32 ...
Why ExFAT? Wat was wrong with FAT 32?

You know, extfat is not the same as fat 32 as recommended above. I'm NOT sure it can be mounted with mount_msdosfs.

And yes, understanding the whole system is a good thing, but with your particular problem this will not help -- I know that from personal experience. For that you want to know more about which file systems are supported in FreeBSD.

SirDice Yes, sorry, I corrected my post.
I have a copy of ntfs-3g on the cd that I downloaded from the website. I used a windows based system to download the file and copy to the DVD disk...
Perhaps, the question here is: what are you trying to achieve by all this?

Why I'm saying that: ntfs-3g is a LINUX utility (a good one!) and if you want to use it you'll be better off with some standard Live Linux based CD distros. Like SysRescue CD.
