vbox FreeBSD & VirtualBox

Gentlemen!

I'm running latest version of freebsd in virtualbox but cannot mount a shared folder or increase display size, thank you!

It has been a long time since I've used VB, and then it was in the linux world, but what I remember is that screen mode changes and shared folders required a binary-only guest extensions module that I had to download from Oracle. I've learned to like, or at least tolerate, qemu for my virtualization needs instead.

You need to install emulators/virtualbox-ose-additions-72 (or equivalent VirtualBox hypervisor version additions package) in the guest.

To resize screen resolution you might need to set "VBoxClient-all" command in a xorg environment startup script of the user.

I don't use the shared folder feature, I use sftp, cli or in a gui file manager if using a DE.
All the needed FreeBSD VB packages are available for ver 15.1

Also, set the VMs display to VboxVGA or VboxSVGA, it will default to VMSVGA which doesn't work.

I'm reading it the other way around, FreeBSD guest on Virtualbox.
