Frame.work Ryzen 7040 Series

My 12th gen Intel kicked the bucket and as of yet, support has not been able to help me revive it (CPU no longer turns on, everything else on the board seems to work). I've decided to switch to a Ryzen board and I'm happy to confirm - 14.2 works nicely, drm-61-kmod gives working graphics.

Only pain point: the WLAN module needs replacement - the MediaTek that comes out of the box just does not do anything.

I've added a couple remarks on the wiki and will update there whatever else I learn:

UPDATE: ouch - suspend/resume is a no-go for the moment...

Another update: after a bunch of tweaking, I've managed to bring down power consumption to 4.6W. That gives you 8:20 with 70% charge.
What I have done: a bunch of sysctls and loader.conf settings, plus I've built a kernel module that aggressively dims the screen when the computer is not actively used (like MacOS - you don't type anything for lets say 2 seconds and the screen goes dim, type and it lights up again immediately). And I've turned off the hardware switch for the webcam and microphone.

I hope I'll be able to present some of the results in our next LDWG call...
