EC no response on HP laptop

Hello everyone,
I have just got a new laptop (HP 14-dq0052dx) and trying to install FB 14.0-release. But during installation and after booting into newly installed system I got
acpi_ec0: EcCommand: no response to 0x84 acpi_ec0: EcCommand: no response to 0x84 acpi_ec0: GPE query failed: AE_NO_HARDWARE_RESPONSE
repeatedly after an uncertain period of time. Adding the line debug.acpi.ec.burst=1 or debug.acpi.ec.timeout=1000 in /boot/loader.conf won't fix this problem.
What went wrong?

I wonder if there is a method to pin out what is going on. I tried sysctl hw.acpi.verbose=1, though noting useful is given, seems EC is still functioning, for I can get lid switch events.

Hi Daniel, I had searched for this precisely. Low and behold you and I both have the same HP. I’m curious, have you been able to resolve this specific issue? Also, you’ve stated you were able to update the BIOS? Are you using F.21 or have you been able to upgrade to recent F.32? One last curious inquest. How has your experience with the RT wifi driver been going? I have been unsuccessful updating my BIOS, as well as connecting to my wifi router. Also, clearly I haven’t resolved this EcCommand issue either.

Just wanted to reach out to my HP cousin. See how things are going. I am utterly new to using FreeBSD so feel free to imagine I know about as little as such.

Does faking Windows OSI with something like hw.acpi.osname="Windows 2017" change anything?
I do not believe I would know where to begin to type that in even. I am happy to try just about anything. I don’t consider my computer broken in until I’ve gone and broken it anyhow. So feel free to vicariously party on my raw HP if you so please. Just keep in mind, I know near not a thing.
