Coding for MAN and PMAN markup

Feedback (about the Forums)

The currently observable issue with coding for MAN and PMAN markup seems to be:
  • it does not work where the section is effectively n.
The usable link for zlib(n) on page 1 was the result of me working around the issue: a normal link, instead of PMAN.

So, if I get you correctly, I linked to the Erlang module, while grahamperrin linked to the TCL command. And yet, both versions seem to be called up with the exact same man zlib (or man 3 zlib) command.
The usable link above (quoted) was the result of me working around the issue: a normal link, instead of PMAN.
PMAN is making even less sense to me at this point. If I want to quote programming language documentation (as opposed to manpages for userland utilities in the base FreeBSD install), I would just avoid using the [MAN][/MAN] markup altogether.
