    POSIX man pages on FreeBSD

Does FreeBSD provide man pages for POSIX? In Debian and Ubuntu, I usually install the "manpages-posix" and "manpages-posix-dev" packages to get POSIX man pages. Is there something similar for FreeBSD?

    Browsing man pages (especially online)

I am familiar with https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi My trouble with it is that I need to know what I'm looking for, either a specific command or apropos. But I'm interested in a more exploratory approach, same as if I go to the handbook and start clicking around. Often times people will link...

Guidance for porters: manual page content

Unless I'm missing something, the FreeBSD Porter's Handbook offers no guidance on the basics of how to compose a manual page: page content, without markup. What's an ideal point of reference, online? There should be an explanation of what type of content, if anything, belongs under HISTORY...

    grep and manpages

Can I use grep and textproc/bsdgrep to locate underlined words including headers within manpages? So far it can get search for any header not underlined within that manpage. The headers can be included in the search with A (after) and B (before) options. The -i (case) argument didn't work either...

Converting a man page with pandoc

A port I am working on requires the usage of 'pandoc' (textproc/hs-pandoc) to convert its man page from source to a usable format. Installing pandoc results in a large amount of additional software being installed, so it seems nonoptimal to go through the trouble of installing it just to convert...
