How to draw a histogram or a timeline easily. Graphical way is preferred or some simple text file.

Did you try to do online?
I wanted something simple to run in FreeBSD. I'll be working with it a time and would like to trust only the workstation.

A start and end date of bigger wholes of tasks or features in a software project.
kind of like what one can pull out of Microsoft Project?
I don't have an answer, just trying to help get an understanding of what you want

I don't have an example picture. Time should be shown from left to right and as in the Gantt diagrams
the bigger wholes of work should show as bars from start date to end date. After these, maby a red to green bar to show software maintenance. As scrum was used, a programmer would like to pinpoint times when something was ready, a feature or a capability for example. This is a matter of co-operation and showing it was there. Maby a scrum-master could help to extract some image from the used tools.

Mostly I'm interested what is available and I'm trying to adapt to it.

For example ChatGPT recommends Tableau Public.

They are project management tools. Talking about software.
