A FreeBSD box for home

The "virtual bridge" in your setup, is that just a bridge interface on the FreeBSD host? In this bridge, your tap interface of the Opensense VM is added? How is the throughput? Do you have multiple VLAN's? (so multiple bridges?)

I don't use VLAN. It's just a simple and unique bridge(4). The tap is added, so are the second ix0 interface (local network), re0 and the spaned em0. The internal settings have a little evolued since this last schema (re0 is now used to communicate with SELKS and SELKS is hosted on a NUC).

By the way, I will have some problems with the notion to not add to a bridge any interface associated with an ip, but just put an ip on the bridge, I will see...

I have 10 GBits interfaces, but my internal network is made of Cat5e cables. Anyway, I could achieve 800 MiB/s for a file transfert with samba. The span to the SELKS machine lowers this rate to about 500 MiB/s.

Concerning internet, I have an allowed download of 2 GBits/s, but unfortunately my box (where the router is connected) have only 1 GBits interface. So I stay at roughly 0,8 GBits/s.
