It should be the physical connector. DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA.
I have this HP Elite mini box with 2 displayports and Intel graphics at home. It works with my custom FreeBSD USB system, with 2 identical monitors. Openbox makes a wide virtual desktop...
Can anyone try sysutils/gsmarcontrol it was recently updated to 2.0.2
First it doesn't show nvme drives, the problem is in the source code, the file src/applib/storage_detector_other.cpp line 74 whitelist vector doesn't have an entry for ndaX...
That happens if no i915kms module is loaded but it could be something else too. The display should not be called "Screen #" but DVI-#, HDMI-# or a displayport name. DP-#? I don't remember...
Those are all on 16.0-CURRENT. Can't look at the actual build logs now though, so can't see why it failed on -CURRENT. But this often happens due to recent changes. Don't think it has anything to do with the issue you're seeing.
Really seems like startpage.com is leeching off Google anyway - like just about everyone who claims to be an "Alternative seach engine". Esp. that there's really no good way to conincingly and definitively show that they're NOT leeching off...
What I was initially trying to do was to completely dump Windows for all the computers in our home. I have built/support 6 of them here so far. I wanted to get a desktop which would appear closely enough to Windows to enable my dear wife, who is...
Ken, I’m born and raised in Boise.

I understand wanting secure but see FBSD as a stable server platform with a desktop tossed in as an after thought.

I'm curious about the kernel error... because if this happens during boot I can't help but wonder if this could be a driver issue. Although the kernel can automatically load required kernel modules, this proces behaves a bit different during...
I guess with rust you shift the burden of evaluating a new hire to later, when he fails to create something due to the compiler barfing up all what he wrote. Then you can fire him for being bad.
Also, zero click attacks have been there before...
I've had no problems doing pkg upgrades on my box with the default /tmp size; but I'm running UFS on what is now quite a small laptop, and only have a thin window manager, not a big desktop environment, probably the largest piece of software I've...
Sure, but that has nothing to do with the issue you had. Packages in the FreeBSD repositories are now being built for 15.1 because 15.0 is EoL. Executables are backwards compatible, not forward. In other words it's fine to run an executable built...
I think it depends a bit on the server’s role.
For example, I have servers with a very large /tmp because the server stores large files there for deploying them over the network.
In general, I set the size of /tmp to 4 GB on typical servers.

That is not enough for pkg.
I have FreeBSD installed in my desktop with ZFS, also /tmp on a ZFS.
Have some a "standard" installation with /tmp as tmpfs? How big?
This filesystem has its file contents paged to swapspace. So you can make it quite big without taking too much RAM, assuming you have sufficient swapspace.
I tried setting 'tmpmfs=yes' and 'tmpsize=4g', and rebooted. Then df reports 4 gigabytes available in /tmp, however htop shows only 374 MB memory actually used, so it's space-efficient. If I then copy a 3.5 GB file to /tmp, df shows /tmp is...
I just tested it. By default the size is 20 megabytes, specifically 20480 1k-blocks, so it's not very large. And it doesn't expand if you write a large file to it, it fills up and you get a no space left error.
You ran freebsd-update install only once, so only the kernel has been updated. Your userland is still 15.0. You need to run it at least twice (the instructions actually tell you this).
See freebsd-version -urk.
You hopefully understand that ZFS is a Copy-on-write filesystem, while UFS is not?
You're never overwriting something on ZFS, it creates new data blocks, which will be really difficult to do if the filesystem is 100% full.
Are you sure that it didn't drop all privilege at some point ? There is some support for capsicum on pkg, so one would need to properly audit the code to know for sure if the fetch call isn't capsicumized.
I did follow the correct steps to install xfce. This problem occurred immediately after I tried to disable pulseaudio, and yet remains after I re-enableed it.

I think X.org should just explain what's going on on hardware-level instead of referring to its own configuration design. ":0." means primary display on the local machinne. That still has to be specfied if there's only 1 physical monitor present...
Well, after doing what rmomota suggested above, my XFCE is now working, although the icons on screen are not as "high quality" as they were. However, I am going to leave things as they are until I receive my new HDD and build a system from...

Because it works. I had DuckDuckGo on my phone and deleted it because it's rubbish: slow and inefficient. What I don't get is the whole obsession with privacy, considering everyone posts photos of their every move on every social network...
What is strange is that Google gives very different results - despite the same settings - depending on platform: Firefox on Unix, old Edge on Windows, or new Edge.
Best results are currently on Windows with recent Edge releases.
