Came across some explanation while editing an old post (~2009), didn't pay much attention to it hunting for the links. Now I can't find that post anymore. Will try to dig it up again.
Edit: Scratch that. No explanation, site reportedly crashed...
It seems the site is trying to be helpful. Perhaps with an initial goal of making money from ads but I don't see that anywhere. It might be helpful if we knew who the creator was. If it was someone we knew, that might help.
Unrelated but thought I'd post it here.
I have a 8ft by 14ft garden area in my backyard. Never had luck planting anything there so, just to try it, I asked chatgpt to give me some planting ideas along with an image. In my original question I told...
Oops. That was the creation date of the registrar 🤦♂️

Site has been linked before on the forums. I've gone through a couple now and intentionally broke those links. It's been around for quite some time, the domain was created in 1985. No activity in the wayback machine before 2004.

Thank you everyone!
Found some information this morning about IPv6, and that the problem could be related to FreeBSD preferring v6 over v4.
So I tried the following:
$ ping -4 google.com
PING google.com (172.217.19.238): 56 data bytes

Sure. With informed customers and sellers.
And this will not change, the industry needs an ET fiasco every now and then, which turns one big company belly up. So people learn that they have the power of the purse.
When it is said that you get what you pay for, you should also be able to say that you only pay for what you get.
They want it that way? Ok. They don't want my money. Oh they do want it, but I'm not willing to part with that amount for what I...
This is what I have in boot/loader.conf

I just noticed that I have a difference for splash and shutdown_splash file paths, with the latter leading with the / and...
I would like to thank you for your guidance; I must now take my leave due to the pain in my legs (paraparesis) and transverse myelitis.
My best regards and apologies.

It looks like some initialization of the same is stacking up while there's only 1 iic device.

Now this brings in a lot of things, which apparently are not needed on this host. I say that because all seems fine without them:
