It is a custom repository, I forgot to mention that. This is the output from pkg repos

I no longer have his contact information, but yes, it was a long time ago. I haven't seen him on any tech forum in years. I know he was working on some sort of medical testing idea that he had hopes for. (He was a real doctor, I don't know if...
I had
attach 100 {
<------>match "device-name" "ue0";
<------>action "/sbin/dhclient ue0";
};
which worked originally but no longer does so.
I'll try changing it to see if it works.
A few minutes later....
It does work, so I'm mystified why...
After upgrading to pkg 2.8.4 I get this message when upgrading packages:

The command which -s minidlnad print nothing, set exit code to 0 if minidlna exists and in PATH, otherwise 1. To print out the result remove the -s option
I remember minidlna automatically refresh the datatbase when I istalled few years ago (I do not remember when, 13.x-RELEASE/14.0-RELEASE?), then after an update (port and/or system) stop auto updating. I was new to minidlna, I thought I made a...
.. and what you said about getting a new address makes sense.
When you get an ip address from a router or whatever other source is handing them out, they're generally tied to the mac address of the interface.
Once handed out it's called a lease...
With version 15's new VLAN aware bridges, we only need one bridge at the host level and one epair per jail to handle networking for every jail's needs.
Prior to version 15, when I was trying to build a vnet jailed gateway with a handful of VLANs...
Well, if you use AI as a tool, rather than look at it as brains, it can help. Even Linus Torvalds used AI to help him debug an Intel Xe GPU driver - and FreeBSD is gonna benefit from that. Even KDE Wayland on FreeBSD had a bit of help from...
Sure.
# First create the bridge
ifconfig bridge create
That outputs something akin to `bridge0'.
Once you have the bridge name you can:
# Add the em0 interface to the bridge interface (assuming bridge0)
ifconfig bridge0 addm em0
# Bring up...
Only j65nko was running the site. I talked to him briefly at the start of the year and he was dealing with terminal cancer. I don't have the details right now as they were in a PM on daemonforums, but I seem to recall "a year and a half at the...
Ah yes, DrJ! Introduced me to RPN calculators. I remember I posted some old nVidia video cards to him. I wonder how he's doing – from what I recall he was in his 70s, and that was almost 20 years ago.
I can respect projects that do not adopt AI such as NetBSD. I do see both sides of it. With NextBSD in only a short time I have been able to:
* Port all the popular KMS GPU drivers to kernel extensions with plists the kernel will autoload via...
I don't have any book recommendations unfortunately. I've been doing this on FreeBSD for 30 years roughly now and 'just know'. Sorry about that.
But what I can do is try to explain it a tad.
A vlan is for all intents and purposes a separate...
I do not know it it is the right way to make this task. I have a script that do the job (refresh minidlna database), the run it in a cron job every day at 06:00AM. The script should be improved to check if the cathalog is changed (with a list of...

Right, that changes things. ;)
So talking strictly about the port connected to your switch, since it's not vlan aware, you just stick that port in bridge0 without any crazy options, and DHCP off of bridge0.
That'll give bridge0 an address that...

I just run chrome linuxulator for this while you can try using widevine on chromium there seems to be a more stringent DRM level that requires you to use linux chrome.

Tried it occasionally some time ago with optiion -M raspi3b with a working rpi3 SD image. It gives a black vm screen and the host cpu causes high load on all cores but nothing happens. I have no idea what the CPU is doing. Iy might be in a boot-loop.

A number of these are available in shells/zsh, shells/ksh93, and tcsh. So we have a number of ther shells which are more permissibly licensed.
Some people care about this, others don’t.
Bash is superior to sh in most respects, but people don't realize it because they don't know what it's capable of. Just like the people that think vi is anywhere equal to vim, probably because they don't know about Vimscript.
Here are some of...
https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/linux-users/shells.html already gives an explanation, though it doesn't mention the licensing. OpenBSD uses a ksh variant, don't know what the others use, but I suspect that, along with...

That is very sad news. He was incredibly helpful on those forums, not to mention it's a horrible thing to happen to anyone. arp242, as you say, around 2008, so my memory might be hazy, but a member called DrJ and I were friendly and I think it...
