SirDice i was looking for a way to recover the sqlite database which i deleted from trash bin and did not have a current backup. so tried zfs snapshots as bakul advised, not successful. then checked for steps as per fjdlr but i do not have that...
It's just investment bullshit, give us your money or stay behind type of FUD.
"X" in space is almost always a terrible idea.
It is far more efficient to house them in Antartica but Antartica is regulated.
Besides nobody has ever pulled...
I don't see heat dissipation as easy as some seem to imagine.
Plus the latency might be OK for LLM use, but you wouldn't be able to re-purpuse them for something else.
Sometimes it is. When Edward Teller was asked to work in the Manhattan project on the nuclear fission bomb he did not only tell them to not bother with fisson-only and go directly to a fusion bomb (aka Hydrogen bomb). The catch: we thought there...

What I've seen most of the effect is that it's often used in combination with claims that have no evidence at all but must be true anyway. What's this called? A supporting argument but only apparent. Some kind of discussion fallacy.

Simplest solution, destroy this VM, recreate it with the UEFI boot settings and reinstall. The installer will take proper care of the UEFI boot settings.
One possibility (if you don't have snapshots) is to go to the boot menu, press "e", and select a different BE.
Then, mount the BE and recover .db file and copy and paste into bad BE
See if you have any zfs snapshots with command "zfs list -t all". You can browse all snapshots under .zfs in the zfs mounted dir. For example, if "zroot/home/rajiv" is mounted on "/home/rajiv", you can check its snapshots under...
Oh, yeah I remember I had something very similar with my Ubuntu 26.04 VM. Take a look at this issue, this is where I found a solution for myself, I believe it should work for you as well.
You should probably use uefi loader instead of bhyveload one.
And if you want a graphical desktop, make sure you have appropriate settings for that, for instance:
loader="uefi"
uefi_vars="yes"
graphics="yes"
graphics_res="1920x1080"...

Make sure the DRM drivers have .150100 version string, they should be installed/upgraded from the FreeBSD-ports-kmods repository, those are specifically built for 15.1. The packages in FreeBSD-ports repository are built for 15.0.
Then the issue is very likely not with the FreeBSD host. If your network card (wired or wireless) wasn't working you wouldn't be able to ping your router.
That said, you might be missing a gateway address. So you can only ping hosts on the same...
We are testing Service Jails in FreeBSD 15.1.
Are there any advantages to run daemons in Service Jails, with no contact to the outside world, like MariaDB, Valkey etc?

apache24_enable="YES"...
Hi all,
You can run dhclient command.
Something like: dhclient wlan0
Substitute wlan0 for the name of your wireless interface.

I tried disabling virtual_oss earlier when mixer didn't find devices, which then led to having to add myself to audio group (seems relatively new; I never messed with audio group manually)
Not sure if that helps with virtual_oss though
I fully agree with you on the other part, but I cannot second this.
It's not all politicians.
Point is, politicians can roughly be divided into two groups:
The ones who support capitalism, and the ones who understand, capitalism will sooner or...
And you're forgetting one other extremely important point. Human decision making almost always has a psychological component to it: the sum of our experiences and how they affected us. AI has no psychological restraint...therefore it is...

"Destroying earth" seldom actually means to destroy earth, but the life and society as we know it and are used to.
And that's pretty fragile. Most people have no idea how fragile in fact. They believe it's rock solid and naturally given. So they...
There's still a bunch of stuff that doesn't yet exist, there's a ton of software that likely will be written to cover things like assistive technology, new games, tools to wrangle hardware that doesn't yet exist and the like. But, that being...
I think this is rather intriguing. In general, it's probably always going to be a bit better to have drives that are basically the same size, however, this does help a bit when that's not the same case, such as when there's a slight mismatch in...
From what I can gather those errors are interactions for the display possibly caused from the nature of the driver that FreeBSD is using and would see if future releases improves on this. You can try to see if you can use sysctl to confirm if you...
Unless you have EMT64 capable late gen models, P4 is a legacy platform.
With 64 bit CPUs you can say you can tackle open source development but in some specific cases where your software or the tooling does not need the accelerated instruction...
If you don't use resource hog compilers it is not so bad. And you can still get used computers (This month I bought two 8 year old mini PCs, 16GB each, one even has a 2 Gbe ports, for $40 each). Not very useful for vibe coding with local LLMs but...
I also have Waterfox and Librewolf and I see what mer sees. Oh, and I also have firefox on here, and have $HOME/.mozilla.
No mozilla in $HOME/.config.
Another machine which has chromium does have a $HOME/.config/chromium.
enjoy drowning in slop i guess, none of these things have been worth a single moment of our time and every piece of software that adopts them immediately gets worse. going to continue writing software like normal here
On the news today while driving around, they said there's some report out there stating that 95% of companies using AI find they are losing time and money by using AI tools.
Oooh, such things are pretty difficult.
Those need to be taken with many, many grains of salt, if even at all.
There are a lot many of such movies made, especially in Germany: Snippets taken from old Wochenschau- and propaganda movies, glued...
I think they're a valuable part of the historical record. To hell with Axis Germany. I've studied history since I could read and German in school and college. From my POV, the rare HD gun cam footage is worth the views. The Germans had good media...
