yes,is a firefox fork I think, the last time I use it was a bit slow compared to others...and only use it because it uses gtk2...but now I dont care about that,so..moving to waterfox
It depends on what you mean by "route". If you mean it in the colloquial sense of "send", then it sure is implementable, as we've shown in this thread. If you mean it in the technical sense of an IP route, then no, routing happens at a layer...
After all my different attempts, I found that this worked.
iocage create -r 15.0-RELEASE -n testjail dhcp=on boot=on
It creates a jail and am able to ping the outside world.
Amazingly simple if you manage to stumble across it.
ifconfig shows...

Yes. My description was not very clear. On my network all machines run dma locally to deliver mail to my postfix server. Postfix then delivers mails towards its final destination.

I think Skeets was 120 years old when I worked at the same radio station as a young'n. We used to get so irritated answering the phone and transferring calls...
freebsd-update works fine with /boot on a different drive. I use a setup like that, too. A copy of /boot in on the main HD and after each freebsd-update I rsync to the USB device I boot from. As long as you don't screw up no problems.
I followed the instructions here
Same instructions as yesterday, but obviously something missed out today.
iocage create -n "myjail" -r latest --thickjail vnet="on" allow_raw_sockets="1" boot="on" defaultrouter="192.168.1.1"
iocage set...
For windowmaker fans, there is a great forum here run by a guy who is a true wmaker fanatic named 'abarbarian'. My handle on that forum is 'wibblewobble' but I've only made a couple of posts there. Well worth a browse through, 'abarbarian' has...
I like the recent screenshot capability they have added too, and the snap stuff. I used to bind 'scrot' to a ctrl-key combo, but now just use their builtin stuff for screenshots. A small thing I know, but I use it all the time. Those guys...
I thought I'd managed to setup a jail yesterday, but coming back to it to day, starting from scratch thngs don't work.
What should I expect to see when running ifconfig inside the jail?
I only see lo0. Outside I see also see em0 and bridge0.
A home computer corner. It performs all the functions assigned to it.

To wit: we are not going to close or lock 'the next XLibre thread', if and when that arrives. So long as it stays technical, manageable, within the rules, and informative.
If not, it goes the way of the dodo, whoever posts (in) it. Plain and simple.

It's not. If you want to have a proper technical discussion about X11Libre, you can do so here: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/porting-x11libre-to-freebsd.98455/
You have none. Your site, your rules. Our site, our rules.
Thank you for your answers folks! I will look at them more carefully tomorrow and try them out.
But now I'm curious: why the idea 'route _all_ trafic for port 25 through a different gateway' is not implementable (or at least, not very easily)? I...
I'm sure I could find some Gregorian chant and post it, but I'll refrain, since probably nobody will like it. And those people who do like know how to find it themselves. And I don't actually like it either.
Unfortunately, dma does not listen on port 25.
I'm a fan of postfix. Looks like it should work out of the box for what you want:

The pf.conf rule then becomes:
rdr pass...
aiui the OP wants traffic to any IP on port 25 to go out a different interface. the route suggestions do not discriminate on port, and only applies to a single outgoing IP.
Like people have already pointed out, you need something more complex than just routing for this. It can easily be done using for example pf but the learning curve if quite steep if you're a newbie.
But anyways, here is a example on a redirect...
The SLiM login manager does not need need to have dependency on xorg-server too ...
I've looked into it, and there is nothing in SLiM requiring a dependency on xorg-server neither in run-time nor build-time.
You can compile and run it without...
Nope, that commit is from the April of 2024; it is older than XLibre :) .
It was done because everyone moved form the previous Linux input device abstraction™️(evdev) to the new one (libinput) and there was no reason to left to support the...
Ah, I see your problem!
Im not sure I have a solution for your atm.
Maybe I could describe a similar problem I have at home. My ISP block mail traffic so I have set up a smtp server in my local network using dma.
I then tell all my local...
Okay, so I just gave up with e1000 and just switched to VirtIO instead, which now works.
No Idea if this is a FreeBSD or Microsoft Problem, but I feel it's probably the latter.
Anyways, this is what I did to solve the problem:

ipfw/pf or fibs neither is very straight forward.
but assuming all your talk with your smtp host is just smtp you can route add smtp.domain.net 192.168.1.1 and thats it

Hi!
First of all I have to say that I am a complete-complete newbie in networking, routing and similar things. So maybe my question is invalid or just elementary.
I have two machines, one of which is a VPN (Wireguard) server, let's call it...

The manpage for sh shell does not cover history very well.
man tcsh has a better explanation of history commands. I am not sure how much sh varies.
history -h strips off the timestamp for usable commands. I use it for backing up my history...
