Xfce switch possible?

Just installed xfce but as root. I want to know if there is a way to switch the gui to another user account and not have it as root or do i have to start from scratch? Ive heard that having a gui as root is dangerous for security issues but silly me, didnt think of it until after the fact.

Copy .xinitrc or .xsession to the user's home directory, make the user owner and give permissions. That should be all it takes.

And if you want to keep the current configuration you should also copy the configuration files, which I believe are located in .xfce4 by default.

Actually, it's ~/.config/xfce*.

You are right, older versions had it in the location I specified.
