ZFS Which 12G SAS HBA?

Hi,

Which JBOD-only 12G-SAS HB is actually supported with 10.1?

E.g., I would like to buy this controller:

But is it supported?
mrsas(4) says, it supports LSI MegaRAID 3008 (and others) controllers, but seems to list mainly RAID cards.

Currently, we have HP H220 HBAs, which have LSI2308-chips.

mentions the 12G SAS HBAs, but doesn't really say anything about the driver...

I do not know if it works properly or not under FreeBSD. But the driver you are looking for is mpr(4).

Best place to check is the hardware compatibility list or the driver man page, here it's listed as supported in 10.1-RELEASE, you can check for support in other versions:

I didn't know about the mpr(4) driver (seems to have come with 10.1).
Maybe the handbook section about ZFS could contain a section about which hardware corresponds to which driver...

It wouldn't be specific to ZFS. Your best bet would be to check the Hardware Notes for the release you are using. For example, see https://www.freebsd.org/releases/10.1R/hardware.html for FreeBSD 10.1 for which hardware matches to which driver. The Hardware Notes for each release is on the release information page: https://www.freebsd.org/releases/.
