I have a passion for database systems as well as FreeBSD. As such, I was looking at a couple of articles in the FreeBSD Wiki, and especially one about a certain port/package. And I was thinking to myself that perhaps I could help a bit, as it seemed terribly out of date.
However, after having made a few changes, I realised the existing content was intended both for FreeBSD users/sysadmins like myself as well as port maintainers, which I am definitely not. So ideally, I think the article should be split in two. But I doubt it's a good idea to go ahead and just do that, and potentially move the port maintainers part to a new, differently named article etc. I suppose I should try to get in touch with the original authors.
However, is trying to fix up the Wiki the best use of my energy, or is there a better place? I can't help but notice the Handbook appears to be more prominent, visually pleasing and all things considered a generally more up-to-date and maintained resource for documentation. But there doesn't seem to be any DB system documentation at all in the Handbook at this point in time ...
