What is a good thing you did for yourself or others.

That's a lot.
To me life is a constant process always seeking to become better (what that means has everybody define for herself.)
But just some points:
- stopped smoking
- stopped drinking (a lot) - avoided to become an alcoholic
- improving my cooking continously (eating is important; You are what you eat. If you stuff yourself with crap...)
- added books about philosophy, and self-coaching to my reading list
- doing more sportive activities more regulary (outdoors)
- dropped Windows, and started to use fulltime FreeBSD

When i was younger in my teens, i volunteered with a local youth club run by my farther for people with learning disabilities. Many great times improving their lives for about 15 years til the club was closed due to funding. I feel sorry for the members as the club was the only thing in their life for some of them. I believe this volunteering made me a better person. To see people with nothing be so happy while the rest of the world just want more.

Got rid of perfectionism. Installed a water bowl for the birds in the yard.
I drink regularly, but without fanaticism. I quit smoking tobacco a long time ago.
I try to distance myself from the state as a punitive machine.
I am actively trying to get rid of Telegram (I have an addiction). Success is already close.
I have not gotten rid of sexism yet. I don’t know if there is any point in bending to feminism in our matriarchal era...
This is how an ordinary marginal anarchist lives.

I once saved the life of a wheelchair user. The crazy guy wanted to cross the railway tracks because he was in a hurry. Unfortunately, there was no level crossing and he got stuck with his wheelchair. The train was coming and I pushed him off just in time. Man, what a rush.

Got rid of all kind of bad habits like the above mentioned and also:
- Doomscrolling.
- Being a news junkie.
- Wasting time listening to podcasts, watching Youtube or low quality shows.

I’m genuinely curious.

How do you all get rid of all this?
What are some ways?

I follow a simple two step procedure:
  1. Decide that I want to no longer do something
  2. Stop doing it
Step one is more crucial than it might appear. Step two is the easy part (as you already definitely decided you'll no longer do it in step one).

Either you hit rock bottom or the doctor tells you.

I'm glad daytrading was a brief one that I cut short. It's indistinguishable from gambling.

Sounds like a series of books written by Allan Carr.
