What hobby do you spend money on ?

Not so many hobbies here. No golf. No tennis. Not even bying clothes. I'm a keyboard freak. Looking for the best keyboard. And also books about programming/languages/API's. That's it. What is yours ?

Used to buy VR accessories; Halo strap and Rift CV1-comparable mounted headphones on Quest 2 was fun :D

In bying stuff you will not feel happiness. You will always want more. And be unhappy.
In living you will find happiness, for me this can be spending time with my brother. Costs nothing. [ And please excuse me if i want to be the wise man]

I found two golf opportunies near Denderleeuw Belgium:
Golfclub - De Kluizen - season's over, but next spring check out for taster courses
Let's Golf Indoor Golf Trainings - en belevingscentrum Aalst - good for wintertime; interesting experience to hit a real ball with a real club into a video screen, and see the computer simulates accurate.

My wife and I play golf for almost eight years, and we love it. I really recommend to do at least a taste course. You will ḱnow within half an hour, you're gonna do it, or it's nothing for you.
If it catches you - and many does - you regret you didn't start on it earlier.
⛳ 🏌️‍♂️

Well, it don't have to be golf. But sitting all day long indoors infront of a computer alone is not good.

Just exploring the vast variety of beer and other legal booze out there is a nice thing to blow money on. On my bucket list still is to try a whiskey that is as old as I am!

I think my handicap is 0. But i'm willing to try.
I got exVRience Golf Club on Quest VR some months ago; I was interested in learning about Golf and that was the first game I ever got about it, but I haven't really gotten into it yet (not sure if golf is supposed to be a little complex to understand at first or if I just don't care for it :p)

I was into cannabis strands a little while back :p The medicinal part and terpenes was kind-of interesting!

Could also encourage creativity for more new hobbies

For me, golf always brings up the image of a rich guy throwing a tantrum after missing the hole on a chip shot... Even after I realized that the rules of the actual game are not that complicated, there's people with class, and there's people who are plain crass, everywhere you go.
😑

Since 1975, I've been involved in numismatics and coin collecting (Russia, 1700-1917, copper). In 2013, I sold my collection and bought an apartment (my son had already grown up and needed to live separately from his parents). I have no regrets.

Golf can tell you a lot about people's characters. (Also other things do, like cars, and driving style.)
There are people e.g. like DT who cheat to show-off with their hdcp.
And there are decent people who simply enjoy having a game, just take a delight in every shot well done.

The rules are not a challenge. Hitting the ball right is.
You botch eight shots, but then you manage one right, the ball flys simply great, just the way you intented it to. That's what you play golf for. For those strokes. And for to reduce the number of botched shots, and increase the good ones.
To me golf is relaxation, kind of meditation. You need to forget about everything. Become very cool. Only you, the small ball, your club, and the course. Concentrating, and switching off active thinking at the same time is the trick. Stay loose, but not sloppy. Just rely on your whole body's muscle memory, and *clack*, enjoy the sound of a ball hit right, watch its elegant flight, and feel the joy when sometimes it comes down even better as you hoped for. Nice. 😊
(Old golf joke: Do you still have sex, or do you already golf?)

In golf you don't play against each other, like e.g. in tennis. You always compete with yourself only, trying to become better, while you can never become perfect. That's the original idea of the hdcp: It's not to compare who's the better player, but who performes in a current game better compared to his own individual level.
Alas not everybody gets this.

My wife and I don't take count when we are on the course. But since we started, what we do is to give ourselves a little trophy, when one played a birdie.
