unfortunately, when I realized I had to use Linux more and more for python development at one point I completely switched and have not re-evaluated the situation ever since assuming it is still as bad as it was. So, for some minor programs and scripts I do not bother using FreeBSD, but for anything serious I use Linux + containers exclusively.
