Solved WARNING: FreeBSD is approaching its End-of-Life date

Hello,

Still learning, so please bear with me

First we ran freebsd-update fetch, then this message was shown:

WARNING: FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE-p12 is approaching its End-of-Life date.
It is strongly recommended that you upgrade to a newer release within the next 2 months.

Then we ran freebsd-update install, and everything went well.

When we re-run the command freebsd-update fetch, this is shown:

No updates needed to update system to 10.0-RELEASE-p13.

Does this mean:

1. That we can ignore the first warning, or
2. That we need to go for 10.1?

The second. Take a look at http://www.freebsd.org/security/security.html#sup and you'll see that 10.0 EOL is February 28, 2015.

You should be able to update to 10.1 with freebsd-update. I don't use it, so I can't advise on the syntax.

I updated two machines from FreeBSD 10.0 to 10.1 using freebsd-update without any problems.
