I want to attach it to a Lenovo ThinkStation M73 which is my Internet gateway. Are you using laptop or desktop? Once I've had bought a combo of PCIe to Mini PCIe PCI adapter and a PCIe Network Card (the ones that being used in laptops etc.) since I could not use the USB dongles in my hand. That way might be more expensive but tends to be more reliable, like some USB dongle producers don't even tell you the chipset inside them.![]()

Atheros AR9271 don't work with FreeBSD.According to ChatGPT these are the best options for a USB dongle for FreeBSD
Notably - this doesn't yet support the AR5513 MIMO 802.11abg NIC, the AR5523 NICs (AR5212 + USB), the AR7010 series USB NICs, or the AR9271 series USB NICs.
Saying everything works is a misnomer. FreeBSD wireless support is very poor and many wireless adapters are unsupported. So my friend. What about my "Character? or words are cheap?"
People come here for expert recommendations, and the answers they get likely will have long-term effects on the community. If you want support for neverchipsets , leave FreeBSD. Embrace Microsoft.
The RT5370 chip operates in the 2GHz spectrum and supports 1 transmit path and 1 receiver path (1T1R)
Are you saying that works on FreeBSD 15.0?Asus USB-N10 Nano N150 on the Pi Zero 2.
Are you saying that works on FreeBSD 15.0?
If so, I think I'll get one and try it.

Old Realtek dongles usually work better on FreeBSD than the fancy bleeding edge WiFi 6 stuff. Half the modern adapters barely behave even on Linux sometimesI'd like to buy a WiFi dongle which is known to work well with FreeBSD.
Any recommendations?
