Upgrade single CTAN package for texmf from ports?

texlive-texmf in 14-quarterly has since upgraded to texlive 20240312 and thus took up the incompatibility bug between pdfx and latex, as described in this StackExchange question. The maintainer for pdfx has uploaded a fix on CTAN on 2. July. Is there a way that I can install this fix, instead of waiting for a whole year until the release of 20250312?
 
tlmgr update pdfx should do it. You might need tlmgr update --self as well, but tlmgr should tell you so if that's the case.
