Tinkerboard2: Save your money

So?

We're not comparing ASUS with some hypothetical manufacturer who fully supports all open-source OSes on every board. That unicorn doesn't exist.

We're comparing ASUS with the pretty sad and lacking status quo, and finding them to be even more sad and lacking than the average manufacturer.
So?

What is your point ?

Your post doesn't make sense.

Look I have nothing personal against Asus. But when they decide to enter the Arm market and charge a 25% price premium and then only support TinkerOS then yes, I am going to rip on you.

FriendlyElec is a company no one heard of before Arm boards and does a better job.

I think that is the point Jose is making. If no name board manufacturers can do the right thing why can't Asus?
They are charging for it.
Its not hard really. Update your tree and contribute back. Don't make it a scavanger hunt to make something work.

Have you ever tried to compile a six year old u-boot?
