Timmy the whale rescue begin

Seems to be doing fine now. Definitely should just kill people when they come into the ER, spare them a lot of pain.

I find that exemplary for our time we're living.
Everyday many thousands of animals die a horrible death, mostly because of people are destroying their habitats, or dumping their garbage carelessly into nature, because they are too lazy and too cheap to dispose their own crap correctly. (Almost) nobody gives a d''' f###. If you want some money for a bit more animal protection, everybody is up in arms instantaneously. But when one whale inhibed a ghost fishing net which cannot be removed or is too expensive to remove, so he is doomed anyway, everybody is heartwarmed "helping" by only trying to get him back into deeper waters, where he obviously does not want to be, instead to help him to or at least let him die peacefully.
This whole action to bring him into deeper waters is an embarassing charade.
It will not help the whale at all. Instead of dying in shallow waters the exhausted beast will starve, then drown. He got bad luck, gotten into the focus of our media. When this happens then something must be done, no matter how stupid, pointless or contraproductive it is. (Especially those townies, who are not even capable to treat their own dogs right, always have lots of fancy ideas telling others how to treat animals.)
Bringing him to deeper waters is just for our spoilt media consumer society used to Hollywood's happy-endings does not shall to watch him die. (Look it up, how many real whales actually suffered for producing this heartwarming crap "Free Willy") It's just for getting him out of sight, with the believe "we are the good guys. at least we tried to help" While those who recommended to really help him, help him to die, release him from his agony, are the bad animal haters.
And when maybe in a couple of weeks his carcass is washed at some shore, nobody remembers or doesn't care at all anymore, because then there already will be another sow driven through town.
For that amount of money this stunt cost you could have saved many, many animals. But we rather spent the money to torment a single, doomed whale even longer, just for having a show to go on.
🤮!

Actually, I think hospitals are useful. I just figured that if msplsh goes too far here and tries to bridge the gap between whales and humans, I could top that.

I said I wanted to spare him the pain. But if you want to misinterpret that, that’s your business. I’m not going to get into it any further.

I have empathy for grieving animals but humans can't cure everything.

I think Family Guy covered the topic well. Marine stranding teams can only help so much. Once beached it's all over for the beasts..

I always worry about the Navy blasting them with acoustics offshore here...

We are working on Offshore Windfarm construction support vessels and they use a "curtain" around the mast encasement to help reduce noise while working.

This is a lot more complicated than clickbait media wants you to believe. Maybe it works, maybe not. Only one way to find out.
