Very recently I reinstalled freebsd FreeBSD with a custom script rather than the default install as described in this post.

In general when typing in the terminal over SSH there is a terrible lag for the text to appear and the cursor to respond.
With my original install it was very snappy.
I have incredibly fast disk. It benched with bonnie around 540 MBps read/write.
I am on gigabit network.
Its a new modern server, so everything hardware wise is pretty quick.
No load currently of any kind.
This occurs in bash or csh.
I haven't checked the feel over IPMI on real console.
Where else can I start to look to identify the cause?
