startx fails after upgrade to 13.5

Hello,

No errors signalled in Xorg.0.log.

Card is "Juniper XT [Radeon HD 5770]"

I have kldlist="radeonkms" in /etc/rc.conf.

I compiled and installed gpu-firmware-radeon-kmod thus: make FLAVOR=juniper install

I compiled and installed drm-510-kmod'.

Machine uses BIOS vs EFI and was working fine with 13.4 before the change to 13.5.

Agreed. Looks fine. Seems to start properly.

What's the error you're getting? It might be your desktop environment or window manager that's failing, it's not Xorg that fails.
 
OK, that was it! I used package upgrade to reinstall after the upgrade to 13.5. Looks like fvwm was not installed as part of that pkg upgrade for some reason.

No worries, sometimes you just need to be pointed in the right direction. You can get "tunnel vision", looking at a problem from the wrong angle, then can't figure out why it's not working.
