Just a quick note for people to find while googling. I was having trouble booting from CD and installing FreeBSD on a Gigabyte BRIX (GB-BXBT-2807) - I was trying to install 9.3-RELEASE amd64, and it kept page faulting and hanging the system up while trying to boot into sysinstall.
The issue was the OS setting in the BIOS - it is set to "Windows 8" by default, but if you change it to "Windows 7" the problem goes away.
No idea what that setting is or what it does, but that was the fix.
