Solved [Solved] Changing configure options for an installed port

If I change the configuration options for an installed port and then use either portmaster -b openldap24-server or make deinstall reinstall will it overwrite/clobber any existing settings, configuration files, database etc.? Or will they be preserved intact and in situ? I recently installed Openldap but forgot the ppolicy option on the configuration and want to update it in order to include it. Obviously I've backed everything up anyway but I want to make sure I understand the behavior.

They will be preserved and left where they are. A new installation won't overwrite them.
